Coming Soon! Expanded Hearing & Communication Support to PD+ Members
Treating hearing loss is an important first step, but hearing well in everyday life involves much more than wearing hearing devices.
It means feeling confident joining a conversation. Communicating more effectively with family and friends. Navigating restaurants, gatherings and other challenging listening environments. Most importantly, it means staying connected to the people and experiences that make life meaningful.
That is why Preventing Decline is excited to announce an upcoming expansion of PD+ services through a new collaboration with Dr. Larry Cardano and Meaningful Pursuits.
Dr. Cardano will bring specialized expertise in hearing, listening, communication, auditory training, confidence and social engagement to the PD+ community. His guidance will complement Kevin Weston’s existing coaching in exercise, nutrition, healthy aging and the lifestyle factors that support long-term brain health.
Each month, PD+ members will receive a new educational report and companion video from Dr. Cardano. Rather than simply explaining why better communication matters, these resources will provide practical strategies members can apply in their everyday lives.
Dr. Cardano will also lead an additional live monthly group coaching session exclusively for PD+ members. Topics may include:
- Communicating more successfully with family and friends
- Managing difficult listening situations
- Strengthening listening skills through auditory training
- Building confidence and self-advocacy
- Getting more from hearing technology
- Remaining socially active and engaged
Members who want more individualized guidance will also have the opportunity to schedule a complimentary, no-obligation Clarity Conversation with Dr. Cardano. During this conversation, he will help the member identify specific hearing and communication challenges, explore what has already been tried and recommend an appropriate next step.
For some members, that next step may be Dr. Cardano’s Listen With Confidence program. This optional service combines personal coaching, LACE Pro science-backed auditory training, customized communication strategies, progress monitoring and support applying new skills in real-world situations. Eligible PD+ members will receive preferred pricing on this and other select coaching services offered independently through Meaningful Pursuits.
Dr. Cardano’s role is designed to complement, not replace, the care members receive from their audiologist. Clinical needs such as hearing testing, hearing-aid adjustments and medical concerns will continue to be handled by the appropriate hearing or healthcare professional.
